Our process
From messy intake to a clean handoff.
This is the operating workflow behind CatalogRescue. The public page is the client-friendly summary; our internal SOP contains the detailed execution and QA checklists.
01 · INTAKEConfirm platform, source files, product volume, target format, scope, deadline and special rules.
02 · AUDITInspect the structure and identify duplicates, missing information, conflicts and inconsistent patterns before editing.
03 · CLEAN + QAApply safe, agreed rules; reconcile supported sources; validate the result; keep a clear issue trail.
04 · HANDOFFReturn the clean dataset, QA/change report and any questions that only the client can answer.
SAFE TO FIX
Deterministic cleanup
Examples include consistent formatting, obvious whitespace cleanup, supported abbreviations and clearly agreed category/SKU normalization.
CLIENT INPUT
Ambiguity becomes a question
Missing prices, conflicting values, uncertain mappings and other business decisions are placed into an open-question queue.
QA
Check the output, not just the edits.
Where appropriate, we check row counts, duplicates, required fields, formats, mappings and other agreed quality conditions.
DELIVERY
A complete handoff
The client receives the agreed cleaned file plus supporting QA/change documentation and unresolved questions.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
- Never invent business-critical facts.
- Keep the original source separate from working data.
- Document material changes and unresolved issues where appropriate.
- Process only what the agreed job requires.
- Escalate uncertainty instead of silently guessing.
